Thoughts About Knowing What You Are Talking About…

Knowing what you are talking about: Donald Trump and the Pyramids…

So, here’s my question de jour: Is knowing what you are talking about even important? Does it matter?

confuse them

After publishing a recent blog entitled “Thanks, Donald—For The Gift That Keeps Giving,” I was struck by the passion of some of those commenting—particularly when they were complaining about things that weren’t even in my blog!   :-). Perhaps this passion was because of the reference to Donald Trump… (This, incidentally, inspired me to write my latest blog entitled “Another Holiday Gift From Donald And His Mates”…)

before you judge me

Then, as I was chatting to Steve Burrows CBE about those comments, he mentioned to me how he had a similar experience with someone who wrote passionately and with great certainty to him about how the ancient pyramids were built….

don't know what...

Just for fun—and because Steve and I have a very similar sense of humor, we decided to record our chat and share it for posterity…

Oh, that authority and passion!

What struck us both was how so many people often speak with such great authority and passion on subjects about which either they know very little or about which they have no belief in what they are saying… As you’ll notice from the podcast, we found this kinda funny!

not true

We hope you’ll enjoy our podcast… If you do, we may well offer some follow-up podcasts on the same subject…
